We are faced with an unprecedented situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. We have to be guided by Government advice and take note of the position taken by the various chess organisations – the Leagues – in whose competitions we participate.
The London Leauge has postponed fixtures at least until the end of April and the Essex League and the North Circular League have postponed all fixtures.
In view of the Governments advice to avoid “unnecessary travel” and “work from home “where they possibly can”, and avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and social venues”, the Club Committee has taken the unprecedented step to suspend Club meetings at least until Easter, when the situation will be reviewed. There is every possibility that the suspension will then be extended.

The Secretary has circulated a notice from the Chair to all members – by email to those with an email address and others by post – communicating this unfortunate but necessary step.
