We need your responses urgently so that we can enter viable teams. Teams do not run without captains, so if you are able to take on this role please indicate accordingly.
There is match chess available for players of all abilities.
Please note that the board fee at Wanstead House for 2022-23 for all activity was set by the AGM at £5 (Juniors £2 for non-JCCC junior members). For our matches at Pimlico central venue and new London League home venue in Bethnal Green the same board fee applies.
ESSEX LEAGUE (Division 1: 8 boards; Division 2: 6 boards; Division 3: TBD 4 to 6 boards)

Division 2 composition currently has teams from Barking, Ilford and Thurrock + TBA; 2 WWCC teams? Division 3 composition currently has teams from Barking, Ilford, Southend and Upminster + TBA 1 WWCC team? |

ESSEX MINOR LEAGUE (4 boards)
As per Essex League above save that it is a competition for players rated below 1650 and the average rating of the team must not exceed 1500. Interest so far from Southend, Thurrock and Upminster (both with 2 teams). WWCC expects to enter 1 team.
LONDON LEAGUE – DIVISION 2 and 3, each 8 boards
However, there is scope with the League for team assignments to be changed, dependent on the result of this survey.

CENTRAL LONDON CHESS LEAGUE (Div 3, 5 boards and Div 4, 4 boards) – PIMLICO (mostly)
These teams are intended to support our relatively recent younger generation of members with a combination of competitive chess in a more social setting. A move to Division 3 should ensure more competitive matches and this has been furthered with a new rating limited team in Division 4.

NORTH CIRCULAR CHESS LEAGUE
A league comprising local Essex leagues’ clubs supplemented by Enfield and Chingford. It is hoped that following the success of the rapid team events that the league will restart with a league management Committee in place or become a metropolitan division of the Essex Chess Association. Limited travel is the main attraction nowadays having lost some strong teams.

ESSEX COUNTY CHESS (Southern Counties Chess Union County Championships)
Members of the Club are members of the Essex Chess Association and are eligible to represent Essex. Wanstead House is the current home venue for Essex. The SCCU County Championships (Oct to Mar) determine the Union’s nominations of teams to participate in the ECF Counties Championships (Apr to early July). Participation in the national stages is NOT part of your commitment to playing in the SCCU Championships which are regional.
