The Ladder competition for 2016-17 finished on 25 July 2017. Ladder games played in June 2017 are included in these statistics for the purposes of the Roy Wagstaff Memorial Shield (1 June 2017-31 May 2018), but are not included in the 2017-18 Grading Report as they relate to the previous grading period. For the first time, these statistics include Rapid games which count towards the new John Philpott Trophy. In the index above, reports which relate to standard play games are marked (S) while those relating to Rapid games are marked (R).

The stats now include two instances of Baum Trophy matches. The four fixtures for each Baum team (BT1, BT2, BT3) at the start of the season were played in May 2017 and count towards the 2017-18 Philpott, but not the 2017-18 Grading performance, while the four fixtures at the end of the list are taken into account for the 2017-18 Grading Performance but will count towards the 2018-19 Philpott when re-entered for that purpose next season.

Two London League matches played in June 2017. These were reported in last season's stats for the Grading Report and are now repeated in the stats for 2017-18 so that they will be included in the 2018 David Wood and Roy Wagstaff trophies, having been played after 31 May 2017. These results are NOT included in the 2017-18 Grading Report as they relate to the prior grading period (note the grades shown in 2017-18 are wrong, but they have no relevance for grading purposes this season).

The half-year standard play grades are reflected in these stats as follows:

• Latest grade shown against each member's name in stats;
• Grades in match tables are date-related;
• Grading Performance calculations are made using the
  date-related grades.
