Over-the-board fixtures return, but with League chess on a reduced scale. Later, perhaps the Essex Team Blitz and Essex Rapid Team Knockout will return.

This was the season when League activity resumed after covid, with the exception of the North Circular League for the autumn/winter/spring standard play league, though the NCCL summer competitions returned.
The London League was split geographically into East and West, the Central London League returned also the Essex League trimmed to two Divisions plus the Minor League.
