Essex League Division I: Wanstead II 4½-3½ Writtle. At Wanstead. Lightning strikes twice. The last time Wanstead II were in Division I was the covid-19 truncated 2019-20 season. The two Wanstead teams in the Essex Knockout – Wanstead A and Wanstead B – both reached the finals of, respectively, the Cup and the Plate. Congratulations to the B team in a comprehensive victory over a good Loughton team in the Final of the Essex Knockout Plate competition. Though the B Team had the edge on ratings, the margin of victory was a complete surprise, R1 going to Wanstead B by 4-1 and R2 by 3½-1½ for an overall score of Loughton 2½-7½ Wanstead B.
