Online Club Championship – Round 2

The second round of the “Lockdown Championship” was played tonight. Of the eight players who won in R1, Kyan, Ian, Michael W, and Peter McC won in R2 and lead the field. Of these games, Ashley v Peter was the liveliest and is well worth a look if only for the drama (Link: https://lichess.org/m500oQqL). More Mayhem

The League of Mayhem has made further adjustments to the already modified Division 1 Fixture List. This is to avoid as much as possible clashes with the Junior 4NCL which starts on 21 January, playing on alternate Thursdays. Caplin British Online Championships

Running until 3 January 2021 the Caplin British Online Championships are in play. Several Wanstead players are taking part in a variety of events. The place to go to watch is Chess Bomb. Full details on the ECF website CBOC. Currently on Christmas break – games resume 27 December.

Mayhem in Mayhem

The two Hackney teams in the League of Mayhem, Division 1, have withdrawn from the competition, so the aptly named League has needed to revise the fixture list for the remaining matches. The revised fixture list has been updated on the LoM Division 1 page. Wanstead Wanderers have a Bye in the next round (7 January), so their next fixture is Round 9 on 14 January, against Imperial College. David at a canter

The Club Online Rapid Championship has been won by David Spearman with 5½/6, a point clear of Ian Hunnable 4½. David won at a canter, reaching a winning margin with a round to spare.
