MM again, now bringing us up-to-date with online league activity. 4NCL – Tuesday evenings 7:30pm starting 22 September, primarily for those unable to attend Club Nights. The Rule of Six

Social distancing regulations change from Monday 14 September, so will apply to our next socially-distanced, pre-booked, Club night, 15 September and beyond, until further notice. From Monday,  i.e. our next socially-distanced Club night on Tuesday 15 September, we have to observe groups of no more than six. The duty steward will therefore indicate at the start of the evening, which tables constitute each zone. Code of Conduct for all players in Online Chess

Following the updating of the ECF’s safeguarding policy on the 18th June to include chess online (see today’s announcement – link below), there is now a Code of Conduct applicable to all players taking part in ECF or Club online events. Covid-19 update 1 – Wanstead House closing

Your Committee was one step ahead of the game: Wanstead House closes to the public tonight until further notice. This self-isolation business is not so easy as it seems: the Webmaster’s local Sainsbury and Tesco online shop do not have a home delivery slot for three weeks! Sainsbury’s promise to give 70+ customers delivery slot preference from 23 March. Club meetings suspended

We are faced with an unprecedented situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. We have to be guided by Government advice and take note of the position taken by the various chess organisations – the Leagues – in whose competitions we participate.
