Scoring 6/7 without loss, David Spearman put on a masterclass of Blitz Chess at G5+2, conceding half points only to a prospective new member on his first visit to the Club – Nicholas Yiannollou, a returning player once a member of Islington CC – and Steve Rix in the last round.
Ashwin 2 recorded a creditable result, drawing with John C and losing only to David, for second place on 5½/7.
There was a four-way tie on the third step of the podium including two of our Junior squad rubbing shoulders with two first team players: Ray Chu, John Cawdery, Arjan Kumaran and Steve Rix; all scoring 5/7.
Thirty members participated. All results have been submitted for ECF Raid Rating.
