MM again, now bringing us up-to-date with online league activity.
4NCL – Tuesday evenings 7:30pm starting 22 September, primarily for those unable to attend Club Nights.
LoM – Thursday evenings 6:45 pm starting 1 October, open to all members with a second division now added.
Somewhat earlier than envisaged, our new season of online team chess gets underway this Tuesday. With the intention of providing Tuesday night chess for those unable to attend our Club Nights, Peter Nickals worked his magic for the club to join the second season of the 4NCL online at round 3. Under the guise of the Redbridge All Sorts, a squad of 16 can be registered from which two 4-board teams are now participating in Division 6, with squad membership open to those from neighbouring clubs. Played on the lichess platform at G45+15, all games are also ECF online standard rated.
In Division 6 pairings are made on the Friday before and teams revealed 1 hour before match time. This Tuesday’s opposition are Plymouth 2 for team 1 and War & Piece 2 for team 2.
The League of Mayhem second season is expected to start on 1st October. Also played on the lichess platform at G60+15 but not ECF online rated. Division 1 features the Wanstead Wanderers in an expected 15 team all-play-all league. The second season introduces a second division which will better suit Pawnstead and our new third team. This is expected to be a double round all-play-all, with some additional local clubs expected to enter.
The London League, having now moved its OTB provisional fixtures well into 2021, is now consulting its member clubs as to some form of online team competition in the hiatus. More on this to follow later this week.
If you are interested in playing for any of our five online teams, please contact Treasurer, Peter Nickals – use the Contact Form (main menu).
