Winter Plan as Club nights resume

The UK emerges from national lockdown on 2 December, with the implementation of HMG’s Winter Plan. The three Tier alert system remains in use, with slightly tighter provisions. Under the Winter Plan, the Club can resume meetings to play chess under Tier 1 and Tier 2, but not under Tier 3. There are slightly tighter restrictions under Tier 2 than before. Tiers there maybe, but W&WCC carries on. Rule of Six is for the present kicked into touch. London and Essex are currently on Covid alert Level Tier 2 – High, meaning we cannot currently play OTB chess as indoor gatherings are currently banned. So how can we continue to meet? Important change affecting Club nights

With effect from 00:01 on Saturday 17 October, London and Essex move into Covid-19 alert level Tier 2 – High. This means that indoor gatherings are banned outside your household and Club night games have to cease until the alert level returns to Tier 1. Online slow play League Chess is back!

MM again, now bringing us up-to-date with online league activity. 4NCL – Tuesday evenings 7:30pm starting 22 September, primarily for those unable to attend Club Nights.
