This is the top level of the Rapid matches.
The team knockout matches (NCCL Rapids and Essex Knockout) are all in the format of two Rapid matches, played during the summer months, each taking approximately one hour (G20+10) embracing:
- NCCL Rapids – the North Circular League’s series of Rapid team events: Rapid Leagues and Rapid Knockouts:
- Baum Trophy Rapid League in which the Club entered two teams (BT1, BT2 and BT3)
- U1650 Rapid League, in which the Club entered threee teams (NR4, NR5 and NR6);
- Team knockout competitions for the Lawrance Cup (for Division A teams) and the Finchley Cup (for teams in Divisions B and C). These Knockouts are played during the regular “winter” season.
- The Essex Summer Rapid Knockout, where the Club entered three teams (EKA, EKB);
The 5th SCCU London Clubs Rapid Championship is a Rapid team tournament for teams of four in three sections: Major, Intermediate and Minor. We entered two teams in the Intermediate and two teams in the Minor: (SC1 – “Dynamoes”, SC2 – “Cavaliers”, SC3 – “All Stars”, SC4 – “Warriors”)
All games played by members in these fixtures count towards the John Philpott Trophy. The Rapid Match aggregate player stats which are included in the John Philpott Trophy are given below.
