Once again, we are in a relegation scare, having finished in next to last place in Division 2. Two teams are normally relegated (two up, two down). However, we understand that Wood Green are withdrawing from Division 1. If that is confirmed and all other things remain equal, Wood Green’s place in Division 1 will be filled by one less team being relegated, cascading down the Divisions below. If all this is confirmed, Wanstead & Woodford Chess Club will once more avoid the drop.
