ESSEX COUNTY CHESS (Southern Counties Chess Union County Championships)
Members of the Club are members of the Essex Chess Association and are eligible to represent Essex. Wanstead House is the current home venue for Essex. The SCCU County Championships (Oct to Mar) determine the Union’s nominations of teams to participate in the ECF Counties Championships (Apr to early July). Participation in the national stages is NOT part of your commitment to playing in the SCCU Championships which are regional.
It is expected that playing conditions regulations will be more relaxed than those in place for the ECF’s pre-season County Challenge in which Essex players have participated during the summer. More information on the ECA’s Health and Safety webpage.
