Entries close at 1 pm on Tuesday 18 May for the 2×64 Championships (G80+10) which run until 15 June in the form of a Major (open) and a Minor (u1600) Championship. Both are a 5 round Swiss (with a slight twist) and ECF OTB Standard rated. Twenty members have so far signed up. The Covid situation in the South East is worsening and London has moved into Tier 4. Tier 4 – Stay at Home, applies from, 20 December until further notice. The Club will not meet above Tier 2, so no prizes for what Tier 4 means. Stay safe.

The UK emerges from national lockdown on 2 December, with the implementation of HMG’s Winter Plan. The three Tier alert system remains in use, with slightly tighter provisions. Under the Winter Plan, the Club can resume meetings to play chess under Tier 1 and Tier 2, but not under Tier 3. There are slightly tighter restrictions under Tier 2 than before.
