London League FIDE Blitz evenings!

One of the facets of the new “west” venue for London League matches – “Mindsports” in Hammersmith – is that the hiring agreement commits the League to take the venue every Thursday throughout the year, yet is still way cheaper than the other venue at Citadines.

The League has therefore the additional capacity to hold other events – a “win-win” situation. The first two such events have been announced, individual FIDE blitz evenings at G3+2, Thursdays 9 and 16 December 2021 – details below including a link to the entry form. Even though we play in the London League east competition, all are welcome – indeed, encouraged – to enter; as the League Secretary’s circular says:

These are intended as social evenings (i.e. blitz events that won’t be quite as quiet as you’d expect a long play match, so please keep this in mind!) while allowing players to obtain a rating as well, at a very reasonable price! FIDE arbiter Adam Raoof will be presiding on the night.

Players and teams who normally play in the East section are especially encouraged as a reason to check out MSC as a venue, if you’d like to come along and take a look and/or play!
