Winter Plan as Club nights resume

The UK emerges from national lockdown on 2 December, with the implementation of HMG’s Winter Plan. The three Tier alert system remains in use, with slightly tighter provisions. Under the Winter Plan, the Club can resume meetings to play chess under Tier 1 and Tier 2, but not under Tier 3. There are slightly tighter restrictions under Tier 2 than before. Finding a way through the Tiers

Important change affecting Club nights

With effect from 00:01 on Saturday 17 October, London and Essex move into Covid-19 alert level Tier 2 – High. This means that indoor gatherings are banned outside your household and Club night games have to cease until the alert level returns to Tier 1. There is, however, an exception in respect of education and training.
