Following recent exploits by the Club’s second string, or ‘B’ team, in winning the Essex Team Blitz and the Essex Knockout, Wanstead 2 last night pulled off a shock result in beating Writtle Away by 4½-3½. Writtle, while not at full strength, held a grading advantage of an average 16 points a board, but the “Bees” stung them three times, including a win by Bee-Keeper Pete (aka Captain Charisma) against only two swats. The three winning games are now given below the match table.
