We’re back!

We’re back! But with controlled conditions and restricted numbers. This means you have to pre-book your attendance EACH WEEK, by filling in the registration form and wait to be authorised to visit. All is explained in the recent circular you should have received and in earlier post we made – Go there now. We are now booking for attendance on 8 September. The Attendance Form has now been added to the main menu, so you can go straight there.

Over-the-board chess resumed at Wanstead House, on 1 September, the first day of its re-opening.

Socially-distanced and using two boards per game, but we’re back.

Rated games

Still feeling our way and no organised competitions yet. However, the Tournament Secretary has established two opportunities for Members to play individual rated games:

i) OTB Club Challenge Standard – for any standard time control game played under the Tournament Rules between ECF members notified to the Tournament Secretary before play takes place. These will be recorded on:

https://ecflms.org.uk/lms/node/62497/rounds

ii) OL Club Challenge Standard – for any standard time control played on the Lichess platform (lichess.org) applying the OFPACRules and between ECF members notified to the Tournament Secretary before play takes place. These will be recorded on:

https://ecflms.org.uk/lms/node/62498/rounds

Procedure

a) Arrange with another Club Member to play a rated game at a standard time control, either over-the-board (“OTB”), or online (“OL”). You must both be ECF Members.

b) Notify the Tournament Secretary (Mark Murrell) of the details (time, place, rate of play) and whether this is OTB or OL.

c) Play the game.

d) Notify Mark of the result.

Make sure you do b) before c) or it won’t get rated.
